I spent the last three days in Patea, in the Taranaki region. There's only so much I can say about it here, because I was down there working for Vice magazine. The issue should come out in November. Fucking interesting place. It's nice to think that if you scratch the surface of any small town in New Zealand, you'll find fascinating characters and wacky little stories. Could be a book in that. Will write something here once I'm finished transcribing the interviews.
