It took me longer than I should have expected to figure out that reedy and soporific Muzak I heard playing as the outro to last night's episode of "Sounds Historical" on Radio New Zealand was, in fact, a cover Anne Murray's "You Needed Me". This is the song that Boyzone fans might know better as "You Needed Me" by Boyzone. (And just in case you were wondering: yes, I did check and, no, the crappy clarinet cover isn't by Acker Bilk. Sorry.)
